Editorial Standards

We want you to know who stands behind what you read, how it is made, and how we handle the few commercial relationships that touch this site. These are the standards we hold ourselves to.

Who publishes here

Everything on this site is published under named authors with verifiable backgrounds, never anonymous filler.

  • Stefan Whitwell, CFA, CIPM writes the contemporary line of books, white papers, and the podcast The Meaning of Money.
  • Dr. David Whitwell, conductor and music historian, is the author of the more than fifty scholarly titles in the David Whitwell Library.

How content is produced and reviewed

Our work is written by the named author, then read and checked before it is published. Our aims are accuracy, clarity, and honesty about complexity.

  • We write to inform, not to hype. We avoid outcome guarantees and we hedge claims that depend on circumstance.
  • We cite sources where it helps the reader and distinguish established fact from the author's opinion.
  • When we learn that something we published is wrong, we fix it and note material corrections.

Affiliate-link disclosure

The Book List includes Amazon affiliate links. If you buy a book through one of those links, we may earn a small commission at no additional cost to you. We recommend titles because we value them, not because of any commission.

Dr. David Whitwell's catalogue is sold through whitwellbooks.com. Links to that store are to our own family catalogue and are not paid placements.

Corrections policy

If you spot an error, please tell us. Email stefan@whitwell.net with the page and the detail in question, and we will review it promptly and correct anything we got wrong.
